There is a Slight Risk of Severe Storms Across Parts of NE OKThe primary risk area is along and south of I-44 with the primary threat being damaging downburts winds to 100 MPH. Damaging downburst winds could occur outside of the risk area with any thunderstorm that forms this afternoon but the risk

More NE Oklahoma Counties added to Burn BanTulsa, Adair, Blaine, Beaver, Creek and Muskogee are currently under the ban while Comanche, Custer, Dewey, Haskell,
Latimer, LeFlore, Mayes, McIntosh, Ottawa, Pittsburg, Seminole, Sequoyah, Tillman and Wagoner have all been added. Here is a map showing the counties under the ban: A burn ban means it is unlawful for any person to set fire to any forest, grass, range, crop, or other wildlands,
or to build a campfire or bonfire, or to burn trash or other material that may cause a forest, grass, range, crop or other
wildlands fire in any county, counties or area within a county where, because of emergency drought conditions, there is gubernatorially
proclaimed extraordinary danger from fire, unless the setting of any backfire during the drought emergency is necessary to
afford protection as determined by a representative of the Division of Forestry, or unless it can be established that the
setting of the backfire was necessary for the purpose of saving life or property.
